full Tech run 12:30-5:30 18th November

TECH RUN

Today went through our fist tech rehearsal. There wasn't much mic use however it was important to see how the electrics did work outside. One of our main worries where that we didn't know if the extension leads would be long enough to reach our sound mix deck. Lucky it did so that was a good use of time. This meant we could use mics. We were assigned different numbered mics so we would know who we had to get our mics off and who was the next person we has to transfer our mics to so that everyone would have their mic in time for their song.
We also made the powerful fog lights so that we could decide where they would be placed at night to light the whole performance space .

We did have some problems though, for example we needed to find a way to hide and move all loose wires and also how we were going keep pugs, sockets and all electrics safe from the possible danger of rain when working outside. We had to think of successful ways of overcoming those queries. That's what tech runs are designed for. We came up of one idea for example to protect the pugs in sockets away from possible ex-poser to water we wrapped them tightly in duck tape .

Then we had the job of putting up the seats. The seats where made up of stage blocks, they were an effective size for our performance space. They are made by slotting planks of wood together like a puzzle . Hard to put up and hard to take down but with team work we made an effective chain to put the stage blocks up and to bring them down.

It was a great full run. Everyone was confident with what they where doing, everyone knew there lines, the songs sounded great. Holly's song Giants in the sky really stood out as exceptional today in the run through. However we where all really nervous of the weather report and the mud !
